Effective Study Strategies
Week 11
The first strategy is to get organized. I have scored twenty for the quiz on page eighty-four. The comment for twenty is there are a few areas where you could improve, but basically you are well-organized. According to the result of the Quiz, I know I should improve myself in some aspects; the main points in my notes are easy to read, though the specific information is not so clear; my new vocabulary logbook is not updating all the time so I should allocate time for recording new words.

Then we have learned about the mind map, the spider gram. Mind maps help organize my idea by showing their relations, so that I can plan my essay easily and well. The maps can also be used to summarize my notes. Since I tried this strategy, my notes are easier to read.

Keeping me fully concentrated on study is important. I have already know that my diet is a main factor in developing brain power; after I read 6C on page seventy-two of study skills book, I have an idea of what are good for our brain and what are bad now.

I have learned six strategies to improve my memory this week. Reading my notes before class to warm up my brain will recall what I have learned form the previous class. Relating new information to the old one would make me integrate the new things with the old, so that it will be easier for me to memorize. Being creative to use color-coding or color highlighting can also improve my memory. If there is something that is hard to remember, I can associate it with other memorized knowledge. Cue cards are helpful to remember new words, but after I tried this tip, I think the cue cards are easy to be lost even if I use a box to put them in, so I use a notebook to keep records of new words and I write the words very large so they are prominent on the pages. The last strategy to improve memory is MNEMONICS; we have already used this strategy on math, such as BODMAS, B stands for brackets, O, other, D, division, M, multiplication, A, addition and S stands for subtraction. This is the basic order of operations.
I have learned many tips in the study skills course; I have been applying all these strategies to my studies and most of them have made my study more effective.

关于学习的策略，我觉得第一就是学会组织、梳理。比如从我的考试结果中我能看到自己的不足和需要改进的地方。学习如何去思维，如何让自己的写作和口头表达更趋合理和富于逻辑。这样的话我就知道如何去组织语言，如何去做好记录。同时，我也懂得了全身心的投入到学习当中也是很重要的。另外，这周我学会了六种改善自己记忆的方法，比如经常翻阅自己的笔记，及时温习自己学过的生词等等。
